Texas to Florida

We left Colorado, on Monday morning, September 30th, headed for Texas. First stop, Las Vegas, New Mexico.  Spent the night in a KOA, had a good supper, and a good night of sleep.  Ready to pull out,  and our break would not release. Two hours and $200 dollars later and we were on the road again.

The next stop was Roswell, New Mexico, the home of the only UFO Museum and Research Center.  We decided to check it out. Also the New Mexico State Fair was in town so we had to give it a look see also. Spent three days here checking it all out!

October 4th we landed in Texas!  Kerrville, Texas! The RV camp ground we stayed in was the nicest one either of us has ever been to. Beautifully kept, with wide spots and large areas to put out chairs and grills.  We stayed here through the 7th, and visited the surrounding towns. Fredericksburg was one of them. What a cute little town with lots of antique shops, wine tasting rooms and a great little general store. They were having Octoberfest, so there was plenty merriment going on!! We had a great day in this awesome little town.  The Texas Hill Country is beautiful!!

Our next stop was, San Antonio!! I was so excited to see the Riverwalk and The Alamo. We had some terrific food and a great tour on a bus where we were the youngest by many years!! Slow down, Hoppy! The RV park was older but comfortable and clean. There was so much to see we ended up staying a week. Oh, and our RV had some big problems! We got an appointment to take it to the Dr. They said they needed to keep it a WEEK!!  We decided to pack up the
Jeep and head for the coast.

Port Aransas was our destination!! We put up in a cheap hotel and Hoppy set about getting places to fish,  while I rode my bike to the beach.  I spent some wonderful time on the beach and doing some shopping. Love this little town!! I think I could live here!! Love that ocean breeze and the sound of the waves crashing in to shore!! Hoppy has set up a couple of guided fishing trips and we found a place to stay on the beach when we get our home on wheels back.

We called the RV Dr and they said it would not be done until Monday. We decided to spend the weekend in the RV in the parking lot of IronHorse RV to save more Hotel expenses.  We rode bikes, watched the Broncos get spanked and were ready to get the heck out of here. However, while working on the RV, they discovered that our front tires were completely ruined. :(  So here we sit waiting on new tires to be installed on our home. It's always something with these RVs but we love traveling in it, so we will deal with it. We should be all fixed up here in a few hours.
